Saw this in "Reader Digest".

A kid asked a priest, "Father, besides praying, do you have any other pastime?" The priest tapped the kid's cheek and calmly replied, "Nun my child, nun.".

The most confusing movie ever is...

..."Brooklyn's Finest"! I thought "Inglorious Basterds" & "The Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans" were confusing enough but I am so, so, so wrong! "Brooklyn's Finest" is totally out-of-the-chart. After I finished up the whole movie, I still don't understand the story. If not because of Wikipedia, I will never know what is the movie were all about. The review? I'll try my best to make it as long as possible.

It is a story about 3 different policemen & a local gangster leader. Detective Salvatore "Sal" Procida (Ethan Hawke), a policeman who desperate for money to feed his fast-growing family & to buy a new house, has started to pocketing drugs' money during drug raid. Officer Eddie Dugan (Richard Gere), only left 7 days to his retirement as a patrol police, who lack of professionalism (coward). Detective Clarence "Tango" Butler (Don Cheadle), an undercover policeman who having problem of keeping his own identity from the gang members & wanted his life back. Tango's close friend, Casanova "Caz" Phillips (Wesley Snipe), leader of local gangster & Brooklyn's infamous drug lord. Blah..blah..blah...the story is confusing (rubbish). At the end Sal was dead after been shot by a gangster while taking drugs' money, Tango was dead after mistakenly been shot by another police officer, Caz was dead after been ambushed by the rival gang members & Eddie live another day & redeemed himself some reputation after saving 3 abducted sex-slave from a underground gangster's house.

The end!

The rating is not for the movie, but for the stars. 1 out of 5

This is the most disappointed movie ever. I have high hope on this but the movie shit on its own face! This movie is not available in Malaysian cinema if I'm not wrong because of the drugs & nudity in this movie. But I'm happy Malaysian cinema doesn't show this rubbish to Malaysian. Words couldn't describe how suck this movie are. After this movie, I have new review. "Bad Lieutenant: PoCNO" is OK to be watch & "Inglorious Basterds" can be consider if you have like 2 & a-half hours free time.  Final words;

DO NOT FUCKING WATCH THIS MOVIE IF YOU DON'T WANT TO WASTE 132 MINUTES OF YOUR WONDERFUL LIFE!!!!
IT IS A WARNING!

URL changed!

I've watched "Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans". It is a 2009 movie, starred by Nicholas Cage, Eva Mendes, Val Kilmer, Xzibit & few more. This movie is all about...um...tell you the truth, I have no idea what is the movie are all about. After you finish whole movie, you still don't get what the movie trying to tell. You'll get the ideas but not the story.

Easy saying, a Police Sergent Terrence McDonagh (Cage) been promoted as Lieutenant.. Have a work partner, Stevie Pruit (Kilmer) & a girlfriend, a prostitute, Frankie (Mendes). McDonagh was first addicted to painkiller, medicine for his long-term-back-pain. Then the story jump to 6 months later, McDonagh addicted to not only painkiller but cocaine & marijuana. Assigned to investigated a murder case, where 6 illegal Senegalese were executed....McDonagh took more drugs....his girlfriend also taking drug....helping local gangster (Xzibit) to smuggle drug for money....stealing drugs from someone....& sniffing more dugs. Then the story jump again to 1 year later, Mcdonagh was promoted to Captain.

Fin!

3.5 out of 5

That's it. The end of story. If you watch the movie, you will have the same feeling. You can get the ideas of the movie but when someone asking you to tell them the whole story, you will get stuck...real bad! And why must Mendes acted as prostitute? She is too beautiful to be one. Val Kilmer is in this movie! But this is the only second film I saw Kilmer was acting in after "The Saint" & he gained A LOT!.

Oh...and I have changed my URL on yesterday. Officially "adrianmako.blogspot.com" now. Please take note! =)

"I've watched 'Taken', not 'Tekken'"

I've watched "Taken" this morning, I mean 12-in-the-morning. It is a 2008 movie, but I only knew the existence of this movie few days ago.

A highly-skilled CIA agent Bryan Mills (Liam Nesson), has retired from the agency, just to rebuild his relationship with his underage-teenage-daughter, Kim (Maggie Grace). Even though Mills is a loving-parent but because of his job, which required him to work outside of his own country most of his time, led to his divorce with his ex-wife, Lenore (Famke Janssen).

Kim wanted to travels to Paris with her best friend, Amanda (Katie Cassidy). But because she is a minor, she need both of his parents' agreement for her to travel. Mills agreed but only if Kim can promise Mills' requests. One of the request is call Mills when she is landed at Paris.

Kim & Amanda has arrived at Paris & met this charming young guy, Peter, while waiting for taxi. Peter suggested to share a taxi from the airport. Peter learnt that both of them were staying at Amanda's cousin's house alone, and phoned this information to someone.

Kim wasn't calls his father & Mills was worried. Later that day, Mills called Kim & while on the phone, Kim saw some peoples entered to the house & abducted Amanda in  another room. Kim was panicked & go hid-out underneath the bed. Mills told Kim that she might will be abducted too, and told Kim to shout out every information she sees on the kidnappers. Mills taped the conversation.

Shortly after, the kidnappers took Kim & picked up the phone. Mills told them if they let his daughter go & he will forget about the kidnapping. If not, he will look for them, find them & kill them. The listener responded, "Good luck!".

Mills asked help from him former colleagues, Sam, to analyse the recording. Sam told Mills that the kidnappers likely to be Albanian Mafia, which are specialise in sex slavery. Sam told Mills if he couldn't find Kim in 96-hour, he will never see Kim ever again.

With all the experiences & skills Mills had, he went to Paris, trying to save his daughter. Will he ever succeed? Oh...I'm not telling you!

Liam said there might be sequel & I'm waiting! 4.5 out of 5.

Well, for your information, if you doesn't know who is Liam Nesson, I can tell you. He is "Zeus" in "Clash of the Titans" & "Colonel John 'Hannibal' Smith" in "The A-Team". And Katie Cassidy has joined as a cast member in Gossip Girl. Looking forward for her acting. =)

Parmesan Cheese Butter Cake

This is my mummy's all-time favourite cake. You want to know why? Because my papa used to bake this cake every Sunday and....you know what. Then one day, the oven was fried by the lighting & my papa has stopped baking it ever-since. So, no more good cake for my mummy, me & my siblings too.

But not until I fell-in-love with baking. I've bake all kinds of cake I know but none one of them can really win my mummy's heart. One day, my papa gave me a recipe. I've tried the recipe & gave a piece to my mummy. And once again, she smiled & told, "I'm in-love again!".

Damn!! The story is like a god-damn fairytale! Anyway, as usual, I have modified the recipe. So, the recipe I'm about to share is my own recipe but whatever it is, my papa should have take all the credits because without him, I will never know about this recipe.

The recipe below is my own recipe;

Parmesan Cheese Butter Cake

Ingredient
200g all-purpose flour + 8g baking powder, sieved together (or 200g of self-rising flour)
120g brown sugar (or caster sugar)
170g butter (salted or unsalted)
50-60g Parmesan Cheese powder
3 eggs

Method
1. In a bowl, using an electric mixer, cream the butter. Add in the cheese powder & sugar. Mix well.
2. Put in the egg one at a time to the mixture. Beat the egg until its fluffy & light.
3. Add flour into the mixture. Using low speed, mix the flour. After the mixture is mixed, use high speed & beat the mixture at least for 1-2 minutes continuously.
4. Pour the mixture in a mould & bake in a pre-heated oven, 160'c until a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out clean. Let the cake cool before serve.

Parmesan Cheese Butter Cake

My 1st tips, room-temperature ingredients makes everything easier.

2nd tip, if your cake were too pale, crank-up the temperature to the highest & bake until the degree of browning you like. But be careful not to burn your cake.

3rd tips, IMPORTANT!! You might ever saw a chef/baker in TV taught you to tap the cake tin or mould on the table for few times, so that the mixture of the cake can spread-out evenly on the mould. That is the more disastrous thing a chef/baker can ever do. Because when you tap the mould, the baking powder will sinks to the bottom & the air bubbles in the mixture will be released, causing you cake either won't rise or too hard & dry. Just give it a soft side-by-side & front-to-back shake. Don't worry if you cake mixture are not spread-out evenly because during the baking, the heat will melt the butter, causing the mixture to become 'watery' & it will slowly flow to the empty spot.

You might be wonder why I didn't tell you the exact time needed for the cake to be done baking. Because every person using different types & sizes of cake tin/mould. Different cake tin/mould, different time & temperature. So, please use your experience & observation to find-out the exact time for your cake with your own equipment needed. By the way, I'm using a 8" x 8" square aluminium cake tin.

And you might ask too why am I using brown sugar instead of caster sugar. First of all, I got a container of brown sugar & I don't want to waste it. Secondly, brown sugar is organic & have more flavour & taste less-sweet that our everyday genetic-modified sugar. But yet, you still can use caster sugar if you can't get any brown sugar. 120g of sugar is the most perfect sweetness for me (I like thing that less-sweet). So, for normal sweetness, 140g of sugar should be good or if you are on sugar-high, you may add up to 160g of sugar (highly not-recommended!!!!). But if anything happen to you, don't blame me!

Good luck & enjoy trying!

"I've watched 2 ridiculously funny & good movie"

I should have post this on yesterday but I'm just too lazy to blog at that time. I have watched "Cop Out" & "Tropic Thunder" during day & night respectively. Let's start with "Cop Out".

James "Jimmy" Monroe (Bruce Willis) and Paul Hodges (Tracy Morgan), cops working for NYPD, have been partnered for 9 years. After failing of capturing Juan Diaz, second-in-command of local Latino gangsters, and causing a disastrous shoot-out in the neighbourhood, they were suspended without pay. Jimmy wanting for that money to pay his daughter's, Ava's (Michelle Trachtenberg), wedding with the price close to fifty-thousands dollar. Running out of source to get that sum of money, Jimmy decided to sells his price-less 1952 Andy Pafko baseball card to pay the wedding. Jimmy was robbed by Dave (Seann William Scott), who steals Jimmy's card & Paul's favourite gun whilst robbing the shop Jimmy was selling his card to. Jimmy & Paul found-out that Dave is about to rob a house on the same night, they stake out the house to retrieve the card and gun. Paul arrests Dave and discovers he has sold the card and gun for drugs. Dave told them that the card & gun might on the local gangsters' hand. So, they went to meet Poh Boy, the leader of local Latino gangster, to get back Jimmy's card. Poh Boy also a die-hard fans of baseball refused to give the card back to Jimmy unless they could help him to find his stolen Mercedes Benz. Poh Boy claimed that he got some important 'document' that should be delivered to him via car (the Mercedes Benz) earlier. And what is the important 'document'? I won't tell you!

Sadly, the storyline is a bit poor. 3.5 out of 5

But overall, the story is OK. Willis is a calm-sometime-can-be-crazy cop & Morgan are super noisy & silly cop. And as usual, Michelle Trachtenberg looking pretty!

OK, move on to "Tropic Thunder". This a 2008 movie & this movie is somewhat a tribute/parody/portraying movie. It is a movie directed, produced, written & played by Ben Stiller alongside with Jack Black & Robert Downey, Jr.

A movie about the memoir of hook-handed Vietnam Veteran, John "Four-Leaf" Tayback (Nick Nolte). With the exception of newcomer supporting actor Kevin Sandusky (Jay Baruchel), the cast: fading action hero Tugg Speedman (Stiller), five-time Academy Award-winning Australian method actor Kirk Lazarus (Downey, Jr.), rapper Alpa Chino (Brandon T. Jackson), and drug-addicted comedian Jeff Portnoy (Black) behave unreasonably. Rookie director Damien Cockburn (Steve Coogan) is unable to control the actors during the filming of a large war scene and just five days into shooting the production is reported to be one month behind schedule. Cockburn is ordered by studio executive Les Grossman (Tom Cruise) to get filming back on track.

Acting on Tayback's advice, Cockburn drops the actors into the middle of the jungle, where he has installed hidden cameras and rigged special effects explosions to film "guerrilla-style". Cockburn & the 5 actors were drop-off in the middle of Golden Triangle, home to heroin-producing Flaming Dragon gang, by helicopter. Speedman was given the map & scene listing that will guide the troops to a helicopter waiting for them at the end of the mountain. Cockburn will be the only one who can communicate with the outside world if there are any troubles & persuaded the actors to start the journey. Right after the shooting begun, Cockburn was blown-up by an old land-mine, leftover of Vietnam War & the loud-explosion alerted the Flaming Dragon gang, mistakenly thought the actors were anti-terrorist who coming to eliminate the gang & seize the heroin-producing plants. Speedman believing that Cockburn is faking his death & convinced the other actors that his death is part of the scene & continue on the their trek to the jungle. And in that journey, they face troubles more than goods. And what will happen to them? I won't tell you too!

Best comedy ever!. 5 out of 5

Why do I say this is a tribute/parody/portraying movie is because in this movie, Stiller copy the ideas from few war-movie such as "Hamburger Hill", "Full Metal Jacket" & other more. In this movie too, the actors were compared with real-life big stars. Tugg Speedman as Sylvester Stallone, Kirk Lazarus as Russell Crowe & Jeff Portnoy as Chris Farley. This film were acted or cameo by lots of big actors & actress such as Matthew McConaughey as Tugg Speedman's agent, cameo by Tom Hanks, Lance Bass, Sean Penn, Jennifer Love Hewitt & many other more. This is an all-stars comedy movie.

"This is neither the beginning nor the end of my story"

Just finished a movie name "Centurion". It is a movie I wanted to watch since I saw the trailer. But I don't think Malaysia cinema had it because I never really see any poster nor the trailer at/on any cinema here. The story begin as;

Picts, the Celtic inhabitants of the Scottish Highlands, who ruled by King Gorlacon, were perfecting guerilla warfare and were eliminating Roman outposts one by one. He commanded his men to raided one of the post where Centurion Quintus Dias is second-in-command there. Dias is the only survivor & taken prisoner.

In the meantime, Agricola, the Roman governor of Britannia wants to obtain favour with the central administration, hoping to secure a transfer back to the comforts of Rome. He dispatches the Ninth Legion to the front under General Titus Flavius Virilus, with orders to eradicate the Pictish threat, providing him with a mute female Brigantian scout, Etain.

As the legion marches north, they encountered and saved Dias, who has escaped. Etain, who in truth hates the Romans for murdering her family, betrays the legion to Gorlacon: the Romans walked into a trap and are annihilated but General Titus survived & taken prisoner.

Dias & 6 others Romans survived the attack & learnt that General Titus was taken as prisoner. 7 of them are set-up a rescue mission to save General Titus....and will they ever succeed?

Well, actually they won't because they couldn't break the chain that chained General Titus & decided to leave Titus behind after the Picts realised the Romans are trying to rescue Titus. During the time of rescue, one of the Romans accidentally killed the Picts' king's son. King Gorlacon was so furious & Titus was given a sword and made to duel with Etain, who killled him.

Shortly after the death of General Titus, Etain & few other highly-trained Picts were sent to hunt down & kill the surviving Romans for the revenge of King Gorlacon's son. And this time, will the Romans survive?

Well, normally in a movie, the goods live & the bads die. So, you can have you guess.

Worth to watch. 3.5 out of 5

And if you don't like bloods squirting out, heads & limbs flying around, I suggest you not to watch. This movie is not meant for the weak-stomach. I think it might have sequel since The Picts are furious about the Romans & Romans learnt that Picts are trying to call a war with them, so, there might be more bloods squirting & heads & limbs flying in the air. =)

Puppy Love - Donny Osmond

Actually, "
Puppy Love" is Paul Anka's original song. He wrote & sang this song for Annette Funicello, who was his girlfriend at that time & they were forced to break-up because of...just let it be & stop gossiping. But the version I'm about to share to you is Donny Osmond's version. Seriously, I like his version more than Anka's version. So, hope you enjoy it.

The Video

The Words
And they called it puppy love
Oh, I guess they'll never know
How a young heart really feels
And why I love her so

And they called it puppy love
Just because we're in our teens
Tell them all it isn't fair
To take away my only dream

I cry each night my tears for you
My tears are all in vain
I'll hope and I'll pray that maybe someday
You'll be back in my arms once again

Someone, help me, help me, help me please
Is the answer up above
How can I, how can I tell them
This is not a puppy love

--------------------------------------

Yes, Donny is a guy & if you are wondering why he sounded so much like a girl in this video, I have the answer. He was only 15 at the time he sang & recorded this song. Or should I say, he is the Justin Bieber (eww!) at his time? And if you are wondering how Donny sounds now, I have the answer too. And the answer is right below this...

I like this version even more & thank, God, he sounds way, way more manlier now!

Maltose Cornflake with Cashews Nuts & Raisins

Today, I have made one of the most popular Cornflake cookies known by most Malaysian, Honey Cornflake. But what I've done is my own version of it. I modified the recipe a bit by changing the honey into maltose. I use maltose because it is more sticky, have a very unique flavour & less-sweet. And I also change the cornflake into Goldflake. The difference between this two is, cornflake is original, Goldflake is cornflake with honey.

The recipe below is my own recipe;

Maltose Cornflake with Cashews Nuts & Raisins
Ingredients

Cookies (A)
80g Goldflake
120g Cashew Nuts (toasted & roughly crushed)
55g white/black raisins (roughly chopped)

Syrup (B)
180ml water
2 spoonful Maltose Syrup (Click on the link for the picture)
1/2 tsp. butter

Method
1. Mix A in a bowl. After well mixed, leave aside.
2. To make B, in a wok/pot, boil 180ml water. After the water boiled, turn to the slowest fire. Put in the Maltose syrup & melt it. Slowly reduce the syrup until it's thick. Put in the butter & mix well.
3. You can either pour the syrup into A or put A into the syrup. Mix well & scoop-out the mixture into a bowl (if you are mixing A in the wok/pot).
4. Using a small spoon, spoon the mixture onto a small paper cup. If the mixture is too hard to be spoon, you may use you finger to form a ball & put onto the paper cup.
5. Store in an air-tight container after cold & harden.

Note: With this recipe, you can make 38-40 cookies.

Maltose Cornflake with Cashew Nuts & Raisins.

My 1st tips, if you are using raw cashew nuts, toast the cashew nuts in an oven, using 170'c - 180'c until golden brown. Turn the nuts frequently to prevent burn. Take out the nuts when the nuts are done. Cool completely before use.

2nd tips, how to know whether your syrup are done or not? When the syrup started to thicken, ready a bowl of room-temperature water. Use a spoon, spoon some of the syrup & drop few drops of the syrup into the water. If the syrup sink to the bottom & harden, the syrup is ready.

3rd tips, how to know if the syrup started to get thick or not? It easy, when the syrup started to create a lot of bubbles, it started to become thick. By that time, you have to be very careful because sugar burns very easily. And by that time also, you can start doing my 2nd tips.

Of course other than the ingredients I provides you, you may express your creativity too. You can put other dry-fruits such as orange rind, cherries & other kind of nuts too. But remember, with this recipe, you just have to put in 55g of the dry-fruits. Because more than that, your cookies might be too sweet or too sour due to the dry-fruits.

And you might be curious too why you have to put the butter into the syrup. The butter or oil will prevent the syrup from becoming too hard. Other than that, butter will give the cookies an aromatic milky flavour too. If you wish to put more butter in, you may put up to 1 teaspoon of butter. More than that, I afraid that your cookies will be too oily or greasy.

I hope you like my recipe. Good luck & enjoy making it.

Am I creative enough to write a novel?

Well...is just another ordinary & not-so-much to talk about holiday. But then I spend some time to 'socialise' with my dogs & cat. My dogs love my cat a lot & my cat...um...never treat my dogs as dog. Not because of my dogs were too tame but it is because my cat are more aggressive than my dogs. Oh...my dogs are cat-friendly, but only with my cat. Other cats or even humans, be careful!

As my papa said, "They are 2 noisy bitches!"

My cat just chilling-out while 2 of my cat-friendly dogs passed by.

My dog said, "If you think this was 'Photoshoped', screw you!".

And at night, I went to a steamboat/hotpot shop at Taman Dickson to have dinner. It is a eat-all-you-can shop with only payment of RM20 for adult, RM10 for below 12. Super worth but you have to be prepare to get bloated & scared after all the food you going to have there. I was super bloated just now but thanks to Eno, my agony has gone!

Okay...enough with the craps! Back to the real topic of this post. I have a very weird experience lately. An imaginary story keep playing in my head while I'm not thinking of anything. The clearest time to 'watch' this story is when I'm laying on my bed while getting myself to sleep. I know this might sound crazy but it's really like a drama. It have its characters, dialogues, and storyline. I get different story every-night. The story is very good. And I'm thinking writing down this story to make a novel. Well, actually I am doing it now. It's a pretty good start for me. So far, I manage to finish-up 2 chapter. I hope I can get more of the story to help me to finish this novel up. To not confuse you, I'm not thinking & hoping anything from this novel. I just want to write-down the story since it is a very good story & keep it as a personal collection. Okay...time to get back to my Microsoft Words.
